A must have for any bride, bridesmaid, vendor or wedding guest wearing heels on the day of the wedding is their heel protectors which have been a lifesaver for events. We’ve all been there, you’re at a wedding or party outside and your heel sinks straight into the ground. Or what’s worse, your expensive shoes end up damaged from the grass, mud, bricks, gravel, or wooden decks. The heel protector is the ultimate insurance policy for your heels!
For anyone who has been in a wedding party, or danced the night away on heels, you know that foot comfort is a major consideration for a long event! For the aches, pains, and problems created by being on your feet all day or dancing the night away, Solemates offers everything from heel protectors to blister blocker, to anti-skid pads, to all the little soft pads to keep you moving and pain-free all day and night. They even have solutions to keep your shoes smelling fresh and clean after a long day!
As fate would have it, Doris and Marc, both competitive triathletes, met in Bend, Oregon while attending a training camp. Marc noticed Doris, Doris was aloof. Months later, he reached out and the two began texting back and forth — him in DC, she in Seattle. Marc and Doris dated cross-country for a while and made each other a priority even watching shows, riding on their trainers, cooking dinners, and drinking the same wine “together-apart.” Fast forward to the night of the proposal when Marc and his parents took Doris out to dinner in his hometown of Wooster, OH at the restaurant where his parents met 50 years ago. Marc said he wanted to make a toast and ended up getting down on one knee! After a solid yes, the wedding planning began!
Wedding weekend festivities being with a 4th of July rehearsal & BBQ dinner at a private home in Issaquah before the big day on the 5th of July! Of course the couple’s pups, Bailey the French bulldog and Willow the White Golden Retriever, joined in the celebrations!
Playing nod to the garden venue, Jardin del Sol, Doris and Marc incorporated a boho garden vibe for sixty close friends and family. Spending countless hours finding the perfect decor Doris and Marc wanted to ensure their loved ones felt welcome and loved. Specially selected lounge pieces from the couple’s home could be found through the venue.
Pale pink, green, white and pops of gold filled the day. Succulents, greenery and soft floral were incorporated throughout along with a touch of macrame.
Guests made their way from the ceremony to cocktail hour through the wooden trellis adorned with printed photos allowing guests to enjoy a “garden gallery” on their way to cocktail hour. Officially wed Doris and Marc joined their guests for cocktail hour
Jardin del Sol’s wood garden hutch provided the perfect spot for non-alcoholic beverages, such as Rosemary Lemonade and Infused Water
Selfies were made against the custom pallet wall built by Doris and Marc featuring pops of pink floral which served double duty as a photo guestbook station.
The bar was adorned with hand-crafted decor from the bride from the wooden menus to an ‘N’ succulent garden representing the couple’s last name, a touch of macrame, succulents, and photos of the newlyweds. Signature cocktails featured two of the couple’s favorite drinks: an Old Fashioned and a Moscow Mules. Refreshing in the summer heat!
Tray passed appetizers from Twelve Baskets Catering meandered through the crowd. Carrot & ginger soup shooters, Tuscan chicken meatballs and Roma tomato bruschetta.
Spread the Love! For their favors, Doris & Marc displayed hand-crafted jars of strawberry jam for loved ones to enjoy back home. Again Doris and Marc added their personal decor touches of wooden signs, a macrame table runner, photos, succulents and a mixture of candles.
Finding their table numbers off of the DIY escort display which incorporated hanging wood pieces for each table number all suspended from a copper pipe frame; friends and family made their way into the reception tent featuring hanging macrame planters with a variety of ferns and other foliage. The bridesmaid’s floral hoop bouquets were re-purposed and displayed behind the head table.
Guest tables featured soft pink and white floral centerpieces set on wood rounds all surrounded by wood table numbers and gold mercury votives. Place settings were enhanced by pink water goblets. The head table was adorned with macrame runners a greenery garland accented with wood and wicker containers bursting with succulents and a variety of hand-selected votives.
A buffet dinner of local PNW seared rockfish, peppercorn beef tenderloin, taro cakes with wild mushrooms, sweet potato mashers, seasonal oven-roasted vegetables, baby greens and strawberry salad and assorted fresh Macrina Bakery rolls was enjoyed!
A highlight of dessert was the donut tower from Aurora Family Donuts that was accompanied by bite-size treats from Twelve Baskets Catering.
As dancing continued (what dancers they were!) Doris and Marc provided a s’mores station for guests to gather around and enjoy a s’more or two! Not to miss a favorite ingredient; Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
After one last dance alone on the dance floor the newlyweds made their way through a sea of sparklers!
“Thank you for helping make our weekend a true fairytale. Still on a high…” ~Doris
When Eric and Kristin married last July at Willows Lodge it was all about food, wine, tea, Kristin’s love of bold colors and of course a few hamsters which are their favorite. (Don’t worry, the hamsters were not real, just on the paper goods.) Our favorite detail was the teal wedding cake designed by Honey Crumb Cake Studio which was accented with bright yellow, orange and purple sugar flowers. When the cake was cut guests found a bright purple ube cake inside. Congratulations Eric and Kristin!
Thanks again for everything – the wedding was amazing and everything went super smoothly! Eric and I had a really great time and you were wonderful to work with! Thanks very much! ~ Kristin
When we met with Alex her dream wedding was a secret garden with lots of flowers, delicious food and a stunning cake! Plus a few randomly hidden gnomes which were her favorite. One fall day this past September her dream came true! Lush purple floral accented with plenty of greenery and succulents set the stage for a secret garden wedding at Jardin del Sol. One could even find a hidden gnome on the back of the wedding cake. The details of one beautiful wedding was captured by Jenny GG Photography.
I seriously cannot tell you how thankful I am for YOU! Thank you so much. ~ Alex
After initial meeting at the Washington State University (Go Cougs!), Nick and Natalie chose Roche Harbor Resort for their nautical inspired destination wedding. Roche Harbor held many memories for their family, one being that Natalie’s parents were married at the Chapel at Roche Harbor years earlier. The personalized touches were everywhere from Natalie’s favorite cheesecakes to signing their marriage license on a friends boat in the marina to riding in on Natalie’s Father’s 1930 Ford to ending the night with the Greek tradition of the smashing of the plates to highlight Nick’s Greek heritage. Krista Welch Creative captured the story of one unforgettable wedding day on San Juan Island.

Last year we had the honor of helping Betsy and Nat plan their May 31, 2014 wedding at Craven Farm in Snohomish. Betsy and Nat who first met in 2005 and started dating in November of 2012 were officially engaged on a romantic trip in Victoria B.C. Canada in August of 2013. With Craven Farm and their photographer Kristen Honeycutt booked, we met with them to start planning their dream wedding day. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect spring day as Betsy and Nat tied the knot and celebrated with friends and family. Our favorite detail of the wedding happened to be the ice cream sandwich dessert table complete with a ice cream cutting cake – yum!
Morgan & Levi’s May 30th Lord Hill Farms wedding came together perfectly with the help of family and friends who helped make their day complete including floral designed by the bride’s aunt, live ceremony music performed by the bride’s sister alongside two close friends and not to forget the bride also happens to be a cousin of BreeAnn, owner of Pink Blossom Events. After surprising Heather with a proposal at the top of Mt.
