First meeting in August 2019 at their mutual friends’ Engagement Party Sarah and Tom found themselves meeting once again at those same friends New Years Eve party in December 2019 where they kissed at midnight and the rest is history!
While an unhappy time for many people, their relationship started out in 2020 and the start of the Pandemic. Covid provided Sarah and Tom with time to get to know each other without any distractions. It all worked out just how it was supposed to.
At the time Sarah lived in Portland, OR and Tom in Bonney Lake, WA. They spend 2-years traveling back and forth spending nearly every weekend together before moving in together full-time in December 2021.
Fast forward to their wedding day on August 26, 2023 Sarah and her bridesmaids began the day with hair and makeup at The Silver Cloud Point Ruston in Tacoma, getting ready for the celebration ahead. While Sarah and her besties were up in their suite, Tom and his groomsmen shared a drink in the bar.
After their first look, Sarah and Tom shared private vows at Point Ruston in Tacoma.
Photos on the waterfront with their Wedding Party soon followed. Tom and his groomsmen wore grey suites, perfectly suited for a summer wedding. Bridesmaids wore Jenny Yoo dresses in morning mist.
After photos with their wedding party and family they were off to their Bonney Lake home to get married!
Guests were greeted with an unforgettable entrance as they arrived at Sarah and Tom’s home. The scene was set with a balloon garland in shades of white, sage and blue, framing the marquee letters that proudly spelled out “Boltz,” their last name. Guests took a glass from the champagne tower that was set around a market umbrella covered in white hydrangeas, a truly memorable detail.
After capturing memories at the photo booth, friends and family signed the guestbook and made their way to the waterfront for the ceremony, soaking in the charm of the lakefront setting.
The ceremony took place on the shores of Lake Tapps, where vineyard chairs were arranged to face the water and mountain views. A white circular stage, secretly covering their inground fire pit, became the focal point for the ceremony and one stunning floral arch.
Officiated by Tom’s brother, the heartfelt ceremony told the story of one whirlwind romance. With the words, “I have the extreme privilege of introducing you, for the first time, Tom and Sarah Boltz!” guests celebrated the start of their life together.
While guests enjoyed cocktail hour, sipping signature drinks like Tom’s Margarita and their cat Mickey’s Moscow Mule, the ceremony chairs were moved to the dinner tables and lounge furniture was replaced.
Lawn games and a putt-putt course added a fun element to the summer wedding.
With a call to dinner, guests found their names and table numbers from the escort cards display set around a floral umbrella. Colorful wax seals were the perfect detail.
Tables set under overhead bistro lights varied with a mix of long sonoma wood tables and rounds covered in white linens. White floral centerpieces, with a pop of blue, filled the tables that were set for a family-style BBQ dinner. An incredible meal highlighted by the smoked chicken and brisket was had as the summer sun set and toasts began. A surprise fireworks display from the neighbors added an unexpected, memorable touch to this lakefront home celebration.
Let the dancing begin! A chandelier suspended above their outdoor patio made for the perfect dance floor. Sarah and Tom’s first dance brought everyone to the dance floor as they surrounded the newlyweds with sparklers. An anniversary dance celebrated the longest married couple and was the official kick off to a night full of dancing!

Thank you for everything and making our wedding day magical! Everyone said the day would go by fast, but wow, they weren’t kidding! I feel like we just had a few opportunities to see you here and there throughout the day, but everything was perfect.
