Jemae dedicated herself to protecting and preserving the beauty of the Northwest, first through her efforts in waste reduction and recycling and then through what became her professional calling alternative transportation meaning getting around by anything other than a car. So much for commodities trading. Walk, bike, bus, light rail or train, she used and promoted them all. She walked the talk biking to work, using a Burley, then a trail-a-bike and then a tandem to drop her daughter Aspen off at school. And always a bouquet of flowers attached to the front of her bike because everything is better with flowers.
And so as friends and family gathered to celebrate her life, there were flowers, bikes and of course a few sing-alongs which she loved! Jamae’s spirit, zest for life and tenacity was contagious!
