As we look through Casey and Jeff’s images from their spring 2021 wedding at Novelty Hill-Januik Winery we realize how far we’ve come from the days of ever-present event restrictions and changes due to COVID-19. While these images below show one incredibly beautiful celebration full of love and laughter, we are also reminded of what these past few years have required throughout the pandemic.
Prior to their wedding day Casey & Jeff emailed guests their expectations regarding COVID to ensure there were no surprises day of. Requiring guests to be vaccinated and providing rapid tests onsite gave way to a celebration where friends and family could celebrate without all the worry. Due to COVID restrictions at that time (May 2021) they had assigned seating for the duration of the event from ceremony in the rock garden to cocktail hour by the fire pit and dinner in the rock garden surrounded by the trees; guests very much enjoyed the day transitioning to each location. As an unexpected bonus the week prior to the wedding restrictions loosened in the state of Washington which allowed guests to be mask free outdoors.
After a glass of rose upon arrival guests sat in the rock garden as musician Robbie Christmas performed. The ceremony arbor covered in lush pink and white florals was designed by the bride Casey herself. Gorgeous! A highlight of the ceremony was Maya, Casey and Jeff’s German Shepherd who was by far one of the favorite family members of the day.
Sitting down at tables in the rock garden friends and family were pleased to find not only their names etched in wood acting as place cards but photos at every place setting featured that specific guest, often with the newlyweds. A meaningful personal touch that brought smiles to all!
With the ceremonial cake cutting over, guests enjoyed pink champagne cake or almond cake from The Sweetside and s’mores cookies from Snohomish Pie Company wrapping up one incredible celebration!
We want to thank you for your hard work in helping us plan our COVID wedding and bringing our dream to life! We had the most wonderful day and it would not have been the same without you! With all the craziness surrounding COVID and restrictions, we appreciate you being on top of it. Also thank you for thinking of all the small details, sending us vendor recommendations, and being so flexible with a couple of curveballs during the wedding. ~ Casey & Jeff
