This spring we were delighted to be the official planner for The Sketchbook Series Seattle at JM Cellars. The Sketchbook Series is a two-day creative and educational sketch workshop, founded by Mary Phan, which teaches fellow creative professionals how to leverage sketching as a tool; enabling them to engage with their imaginations and deliver design concepts in an artistic way, while opening the door to creative collaboration with fellow design and creative professionals.
A host of creative professionals joined us at JM Cellars in a beautifully inspired classroom, co-designed by Pink Blossom Events and Gather Design Company. Pink Blossom Events and Gather Design Company conceptualized “An Awakening” to celebrate the coming of spring and all of its bounty. In a color palette of mustard, yellow, peach, orange, blush, ivory, and white, Gather Design Company created effortless, airy arrangements with the best that spring has to offer: ranunculus, tulips, garden roses, sweet peas, and blooming plum, quince and forsythia branches. The design included full blooms as well as more intricate blooms to give workshop attendees a chance to learn to sketch a variety of different flowers. The range of warm colors was echoed in the velvet table linens from La Tavola, which cascaded down the walls and onto the tables where attendees sat for lunch. The designers also utilized layering of textures and colors, as seen in the cake by Honey Crumb Cake Studio, the custom backdrop by Gather Design Company, and the paper goods and signage created by Dahlia Press and Letters By Ellen. Blue Rose Photography captured all the details of this two-day event.
Dearest BreeAnn, Thank you x 1000 for hosting me here in Seattle. I’m blown away by attention to detail and how much thought went into this class. I am forever grateful. Looking forward to two amazing days sketching together! XO, Mary
