Soon after I was asked to participate in this year’s Weddings In Woodinville I awoke one morning to find the most amazing sunrise outside my window and I knew that I had picked the theme! Growing up I could see the sun coming up out my bedroom window and those cold frosty winter mornings often produced the most vivid sunrises full of pinks, coral and oranges. Every winter I look forward to those mornings as you know that sunrise will bring one memorable day! As I awoke the morning of the show and drove into Woodinville the sunrise proved to be just as incredible as I had hoped it would be that day lending itself to a fantastic show this past January.
Columbia Winery was transformed the day of the show from the bright floral arrangements complete with hues of pink, coral and oranges and snow covered branches and evergreens from Fena Flowers to the linens and furniture from ABC Rentals by Court and Prop Gallery, a Winter Sunrise was born!
As guests entered Columbia Winery they were directed by signage featuring a stunning watercolor sunrise and were led to the Columbia Room. Passing through the foyer guests couldn’t help but touch the snow covered table that greeted guests as they were about the enter the room. Once inside a custom guest book canvas complete with a caricature of the bride and groom was featured.
The Columbia Room was split into both a Lounge Area and Reception Area. The Lounge featured jewelry, a Vodka Bar sponsored by New Amsterdam Vodka and a photo booth by Rick + Anna Photography. On the other side of the room the white dance floor became the focal point of the room as a four post structure outlined the dance floor. The dance floor structure featured a snow frosted cedar garland and floral arrangements all supported by birch and snow covered twigs covered bases. Surrounding the dance floor was a dessert bar, reception tables featuring snow filled place settings and rock candy favors as well as a wine bar and buffet by John Howie Catering. Music throughout was provided by Bugsie Productions.
Outside as the sounds of Smooth Groove played, a ceremony was featured underneath the tent. Mirroring the dance floor structure a chuppah inspired structure covered in lush floral, frosted greens, birch branches and sparkly snow covered twigs centered the room. A table for signing the marriage license during the ceremony stood underneath the ceremony structure. Glass cylinders filled with snow and suspended carnation balls added a touch of winter beauty to the ceremony seating.
Guests left Columbia Winery with ideas that would transform their upcoming wedding whether they were marrying in winter or summer.
