When Hannah and Mike came to Pink Blossom Events for help planning their wedding, Hannah told me that the most important elements to her were dessert as she always ate dessert first, a grand entrance piece and lush floral although nothing too bright as neutral palettes always caught her eye. With Sodo Park as the backdrop, I went about designing their wedding with those elements in mind and incorporating vendors who met their vision. I look back over the images taken by the ever talented Alante Photography and reminisce over a day full of love, beauty and celebration.
After getting ready at Hotel 1000 the morning of their wedding, Hannah, Mike and their Bridal Party headed to King Street Station for photos before making their way to Sodo Park.
When Hannah and Mike arrived at Sodo Park they spent a few moments soaking in all the details surrounding them. From the custom ceiling drapery to the grand entrance piece this day was made for them.
After signing the bride and groom’s guest book and placing a wish in their time capsule, friends and family walked through a handmade curly willow arch dripping in lush amaranthus flanked by iron gates entwined with garden floral making for one jaw dropping entrance.
To accent the statement piece at the entrance, an arch made of curly willow and amaranthus created a beautiful ceremony backdrop.
While guests eagerly awaited for the bride’s entrance, Mike made his entrance to start the ceremony that was officiated in both Korean and English.
After the ceremony guests sipped on cocktails and nibbled on bites of Sweet Potato and Dungeness Crab Cakes, Seared Beef Canapes and Cherry Tomato Bruschetta.
With the room flipped for dinner, loved ones found their names on escort cards which were strung from an iron gate from Vintage Ambiance. After finding their seats, they were rewarded to mini cupcakes stating “dessert first.” Truly fitting for ones love of sweets!
Lola Event Design & Floral alternated stunning tall and short centerpieces of cream, blush and white floral to keep with the lush garden theme.
With dinner service complete, it was time to cut into a gorgeous four tiered cake covered in a cascading display of floral. We give all credit to Hannah on the design as this is one aspect that she knew exactly what she wanted. Cupcakes, Marionberry Sherbet and Triple Berry Shortcakes accompanied the cake ensuring there was plenty of dessert to go back for seconds or even thirds!
The newlyweds took their first dance and spent the night dancing and celebrating with their friends and family.
With a perfect day behind them, Hannah and Mike left Sodo Park with a sparkler send off and took with them memories to last a lifetime.
Congratulations Hannah & Mike!
you did such a wonderful job…I still wish we could do it again really soon! I will definitely have to find
a way to plan something again! Thank you for
everything always! ~ Hannah
