Weddings in Woodinville 2020 – Willows Lodge

Inspired by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest we showcased the natural elements surrounding us at Willows Lodge for this year’s Weddings In Woodinville. Rustic metals and cement mixed in with the lush forest greenery highlighted by the watery blues and pops of mustard, burnt orange and dusty pink inspired us for this year’s design.

As guests arrived at Willows Lodge they were greeted by a 1957 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud accented with floral by Fena Flowers and directed to the Sammamish Ballroom. A program designed in collaboration with Paper Fling featured a map of Willows Lodge with event highlights from the menu to a list of vendors to meet and room for notes along the way!

In the foyer an inspiration board highlighted the design elements and gave way to a quick jump in The Luxe Photo Booth from The SnapBar and a sample of Nutty Squirrel’s Gelato. Yum!

Making their way into the Sammamish Ballroom newlyweds and their friends and family mingled with vendors as they were inspired by ideas and nibbled on bites from Barking Frog. A few even danced on the dance floor as Bugsie Productions provided the tunes. The dance floor was highlighted with overhead greenery and dripping orchids. Flanking the dance floor, two lounge areas from Vintage Ambiance featuring Grace, a 1930’s champagne velveteen couch and Winston, a 1930’s gray couch. The lounge areas were accented with arctic blue pillows from BBJ Linen and lush floral arrangements in compote copper containers.

And not to miss were the reception tables that were there to inspire one’s design. On the east side of the room two artisan light wood tables capped with vineyard chairs from Pedersen’s set the stage for a dramatic king’s table. A moss escort board with escort cards pined by copper pins was accented by floral and fern accents. Place settings surrounded a lush tablespace from Fena Flowers. Cement containers were filled with a mixture of elements. Low round containers were filled with moss, orchid blooms and mercury gold votives while other cement containers were bursting with blooms and ferns; all surrounded by moss and clear and gold mercury votives. At each place setting white coupe chargers and dinner plates were paired with white hemstitch napkins, a fern garnish and white dinner menus backed with a blush cameo backer and wrapped in copper wire. Place cards following suite of the dinner menus, modern glassware and copper silverware from Pedersen’s Rentals completed the place settings.

A sweet bar by Seatown Sweets led guests off the dance floor as they let their sweet tooth take the lead. A central two-tiered cake with a rustic concrete buttercream finish was accented with roses and ferns and topped with a copper cake topper “Our Adventure Begins” from Pomp & Revel. A one tier ombre yellow cutting cake and a hand painted floral buttercream cutting cake were on display. Not to miss the sugar cookies and cupcakes! Setting the background for the dessert bar, a boxwood hedge from Pedersen’s was covered in a moss base, accented by iron gates from Vintage Ambiance then adorned with floral arrangements by Fena Flowers.

On the west side of the room a trio of rounds with vineyard chairs were featured. The central reception table was adorned with BBJ’s notte lucca linen and a PNW Inspired centerpiece arranged in a compote copper container highlighted with blooms in shades of mustard, burnt orange and dusty pink and plenty of greenery. Goldstone blush chargers brought in the metallic copper elements. A crowd favorite were the napkins at each place setting. The arctic velvet and turmeric velvet napkins from BBJ Linen were pulled together by a handmade copper wire napkin ring and greenery garnish by Fena Flowers. A combo dinner menu and place card incorporating the elements finished off the place settings in addition to the copper utensils from Pedersen’s. On either side of this table were rounds fitted with BBJ Linen’s rosa linen and a lush floral centerpiece all circled by vineyard chairs.

Outside in the tented patio off the ballroom a Wine Lounge was enjoyed! Solo guitarist, Robbie Christmas, played. His repertoire spanned from the 1960’s all the way up to current day hits. After grabbing a tasting of wine from Patterson Cellars (Melange Blanc, Forbidden Rose or their Due Anni) guests sat amongst the lounge furniture from Vintage Ambiance. Our favorite, the green Eve couch and coordinating bench were on hand.

Leaving the tent guests made their way to the Ceremony Gazebo. Along the way they were invited to stop and make a wish by tossing a penny into the cement birdbath from Vintage Ambiance that had been filled with moss and roses.

At the Ceremony Gazebo it was all about the grand entrance! Boxwood hedges covered in a moss base flanked either side of the ceremony entrance and were accented by iron gates from Vintage Ambiance then adorned with PNW Inspired floral arrangements and branches from Fena Flowers. At the back of the aisle two tall artisan tables from Pedersen’s were covered in tablescapes by Fena Flowers, allowed for a place for ceremony programs to rest. Programs by Paper Fling featured copper foil names, charcoal ink and a copper paper backer.  Lush ferns arrangements in wood cubes and moss lined the aisle. Vineyard chairs faced the front of the ceremony which in addition to the grand entrance to the ceremony may be one of our favorite elements of the design! As a nod to Woodinville Wine Country a wine blending ceremony was displayed on an artisan wood table up front. Overhead seven carriage lights from Vintage Ambiance glowed. A boxwood hedge backdrop was accented by lush floral panels incorporating greenery, ferns, moss, branches and fronted by iron gates from Vintage Ambiance. Pacific Northwest inspired floral arrangements and branches from Fena Flowers finished off the ceremony setting.

Before departing, guests were led into the Gilman Room at Willows Lodge which was set for a rehearsal dinner. Although the setup could easily be mimicked for an intimate wedding reception. Two long reception tables were accented with chairs from Willows Lodge and covered in sand angelina linens from BBJ Linen. A tablescape showcasing a variety of cement containers by Fena Flowers. Some featured a simple ferns while round cement containers were filled with floating blooms and candles while others were filled a variety of foliage from ferns, moss, fern curls, evergreen branches and pops of white blooms.  Place settings by Willows Lodge were topped with BBJ Linen’s martinique ivory napkins and dinner menus with a copper wax seal by Paper Fling. Each dinner menu featured a thank you from the couple as well as a different question for the table. Perfect for a rehearsal dinner or an intimate celebration to inspire conversation amongst the table.

And not to miss, a high point of the day was earlier that morning before guests arrived. With the venue set, Jennifer Tai Photo Artistry captured the beauty of our work with a bride in tow. Incorporating the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, Bridal Beauty Agency worked their magic on hair and makeup while Fena Flowers created one stunning floral necklace and bouquet. For the bride’s gown, we worked with French Knot Couture to create a custom dress to complete the theme. The ivory Willow Gown made for one stunning addition to the look! The ivory Willow Gown featured a fully boned silk bodice and corset style grommet closure with a skirt accented with branch embroidery.  Stunning!

A big thank you to the team of vendors who helped pull off our vision!

Greg’s Celebration of Life

This February was bittersweet as we helped celebrate the life of a former Groom and client at Wisteria Hall, located within the Washington Park Arboretum. Working with his wife, we incorporated Greg’s love of the outdoors, fresh floral, his favorite colors of orange and blue and most importantly those who loved him most.

Greg was loving, generous, gentle and kind. He loved to treat his family to Hawaii, sandy beaches, and the mountains for skiing, hiking, snow-shoeing and snowball fights. Gratitude was his compass. He had a deep passion and respect for nature and the outdoors. Greg connected with people in need. He was profoundly aware of the world and politics. He could quote any piece of Shakespearean work. He loved to sing and dance. Favorite music artists: David Bowie and Stevie Wonder. A kid at heart, he enjoyed silly puns and jokes, waterslides, super-soakers, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (peanut butter cups too), and a game of Monkey in the Middle. He was an avid gardener and never far from a fresh bouquet of flowers.

As guests arrived they wrote their favorite memories of Greg on a Memory Tree and were handed a seeded-paper program that could later be planted in the garden where wildflowers would soon grow. Tray passed peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were enjoyed.

Finding comfort in sharing stories of Greg, friends and family gathered around lounge furniture and tables covered in charcoal and navy linens as tears and laughter were shared. Lush floral arrangements filled the room in orange, blue, green and white floral.

Soon a buffet of savory and sweet items, including a few of Greg’s favorites, was open. At the end of the evening loved ones were sent home with evergreen seedlings that would be planted in his memory.

“Hi BreeAnn. I keep meaning to sit down and reply to your email and let you know how much I loved the celebration. It turned out so well. I really couldn’t have asked for it to go better. Your venue and your vendors were great, but someone had to have the ideas, put it all together to make it work and add all the special touches. I am so grateful for all you did and your expertise.  I shudder at the thought of how it would have turned out if I’d planned it myself. Thank you so much for making a very sad event so nice.” ~ April

Salla & Zach’s Fall JM Cellars Wedding

If there was ever a wedding that had us glowing, this would be it! Working with Salla and Zach on all of the planning and design of their fall JM Cellars Wedding was a dream! Inspired by the beauty of the season, Salla and Zach chose a warm fall-inspired color palette of evergreen, forest green, sage, burgundy, eggplant and touches of burnt orange, copper, and gold. From the warm glow of candlelight to the overhead bistro lights above the ceremony in the rock garden the soft lighting made for a romantic fall setting. Colorful fall floral by Sublime Stems filled the venue. Not afraid of texture, the floral incorporated nature’s bounty from berries to branches. Follow along one for images of one stunning fall day captured by Rachel Birkhofer Photography  that featured a cameo by their dog Juniper!

With family photos complete Salla and Zach’s guests soon arrived! Acrylic signage made by Salla welcomed guests into the rock garden that crisp fall evening. For their guestbook Salla and Zach set out three JM Cellars wine bottles for guests to sign. For the next three years as husband and wife they would enjoy a bottle of wine and remember their loved ones. “Like wine, love gets better with age.

Despite a few drops of rain that fell pre-ceremony (thankful for clear umbrellas on hand just in case), the ceremony stayed rain free!

Officially husband and wife, the newlyweds entered cocktail hour as Harold Belskus played for guests while they enjoyed a selection of Artisan Cheeses and tray passed appetizers of cremini mushroom & gruyere tartlets and herb & salt-crusted wild salmon skewers.

As JM Cellars’ famous copper doors opened guests moved inside the library and barrel rooms for dinner on long wooden tables. Tables were adorned with floral table runners filled with lush greens, dahlias, roses and hanging amaranthus.  Amber-colored votives were mixed in to give the perfect accent.  The head table floral runner featured additional blooms gathered in the middle of the runners that tapered out to the end of the tables, along with the deep green foliage.  Place settings featured black stoneware chargers, set on top of forest green napkins, were topped with acrylic menus from Paper Fling and highlighted with sprigs of burgundy hanging amaranthus, a favorite bloom of Salla’s. A trio of vintage glassware composed of culver highballs, gold rimmed crystal coupes and gold rimmed crystal glasses for wine. The perfect fall design for this intimate moody fall wedding.

After a plated dinner of local grilled & roasted market vegetables and seared sweet potato polenta triangles with entree choices of cider-roasted chicken breasts, braised Oregon country short ribs or a portobello mushroom steak; Salla and Zach cut their wedding cake. A hand-painted cappuccino cake with bourbon salted caramel buttercream was a highlight for Salla and Zach. Thanks for a surprise gift from Salla’s co-worker the cake was accented with the most gorgeous sugar flowers by Honey Crumb Cake Studio.

Dancing, cake and a trip to the Espresso Cart for a signature Dirty Chai kept guests celebrating late into the night! Not to miss the bahn mi sliders that came out at the end of the night!

Stealing a kiss outside Salla and Zach shared a s’more before a final bubble send-off with their friends and family.

Congrats Salla & Zach!

Booking BreeAnn as our wedding planner was the first and best decision we made for our wedding. I honestly wasn’t sure if I should book a planner as I have always imagined that I would figure it out a way to do it myself–but I quickly realized I was in over my head. We worked together for over a year planning our wedding and we’ve appreciated tapping into her clear experience planning weddings, deep knowledge of the Seattle wedding industry and creativity. We had several wedding guests mention how smooth and well run everything was (and you always have a few unavoidable bumps behind the scenes). Whether you are on the fence or deciding who your planner should be–I would definitely recommend considering Pink Blossom Events. ~ Salla

Employee Appreciation Harvest Party

School has begun which means fall is around the corner. The coming of fall has us dreaming of crisp autumn evenings, pumpkins and pie. Today we look back at an Employee Appreciation Harvest Party we had the opportunity to plan last fall. With the promise of a party at the owner’s home if the company reached their ultimate sales goal, the employees took on the challenge and surpassed that goal! With less than a month until the celebration we pulled together a Harvest Party for their sales team and family members that left their guests feeling both appreciated and grateful to be part of a successful team milestone.

As guests arrived at the designated parking lot noted in their invite they were picked up by Butler Seattle shuttles who transported them ten minutes down the road to our client’s home. Guests exited the shuttles and were greeted with a glass of wine and tray passed appetizers as they took in the event displayed in front of them. The upper lawn featured Pumpkin Ring Toss, two Pumpkin Tic Tac Toe Boards, Pumpkin Bowling, Corn Hole, a Paint Your Own Pumpkin Station and a photo booth incorporating cornstalks, haybales and custom props.

Scattered throughout the property were five raffle stations which asked employees and their family to guess the number of harvest themed candies in each jar. Those closest to the correct number were given prizes ranging from an overnight stay at a local casino to tickets to a pro football game. Not bad! These prizes were announced at the end of dinner prior to the start of dessert.

Inside the home guests were given free range of the kitchen, deck and game room downstairs. Making their way outside on the waterfront side of the home, a live band playing country and rock hits set the mood. A second bar as well as various options for seating allowed guests to enjoy the music and the beauty of the lake. A bit too cold for swimming but the perfect backdrop for live music!

When the dinner bell rang, employees gathered underneath the tent that sat upon our clients tennis court.  Long farm tables adorned with mum centerpieces and pumpkins were on display.

After dinner guests enjoyed root beer floats, mulled apple cider and hot cocoa. Apple, marionberry and pumpkin pies were also a hit!

As guests mingled with coworkers and introduced their family members to their coworkers that afternoon, my clients rejoiced in seeing their employees enjoying a celebration planned solely for their achievements. During the fall inspired dinner one could hear laughter and the joy of a successful collaboration. There were toasts of triumph, talks of future goals and a sense of pride of what one dedicated team can accomplish. The opening of the pie bar capped a sweet sales victory!

30th Birthday Party ~ The Little London Plane

woman-in-black-dress-standing-by-birthday-sign

Claire’s botanical inspired 30th birthday party was the perfect way to ring in a new decade. Celebrating with friends and family at The Little London Plane, guests arrived and were invited to grab a bit to eat; sip one of the specialty cocktails; write down advice for Claire; strike a pose in front of the flower wall or make their own floral adornment. Of course a birthday party isn’t complete without a fabulous birthday cake and that is exactly what Honey Crumb Cake Studio created! Disguised as an orchid terrarium, Honey Crumb Cake Studio crafted the terrarium that featured a cake base textured with chocolate and edible paint then adorned with hand-rolled fondant vines and piped leaves, and topped with sugar orchids and buds, crushed cookie “dirt” and a wired gumpaste cage. The cake itself was a vanilla cake with apple cider reduction and a cinnamon-whiskey cream cheese filling. If that wasn’t enough guest also had the opportunity to indulge in a donut from the donut wall! Thank you to  Lloyd Photographers for capturing one special birthday!

Michael & Kevin ~ Alderbrook Resort Wedding

sunset-portraits-bride-and-groom

It was a fairy-tale wedding as Kevin and Michael were married at Alderbrook Resort & Spa one gorgeous spring afternoon! With life pulling them in all directions and living out of state, Kevin and Micheal reached out to us to plan and design their dream wedding day which took place not too far from Kevin’s family home on the Hood Canal. Incorporating a romantic Pacific Northwest vibe filled with lush floral, the sounds of string music and their love of tea the details were endless! One of our favorite moments of the day was the rowboat send-off which mimicked Michael’s first trip out to Alderbrook Resort when Kevin rowed her down the Hood Canal to Alderbrook for lunch before heading back to his family home. What love! Follow along as the images from Alante Photography tell the story of one romantic wedding day all ending with sunset photos at Alderbrook Golf & Yacht Club – a bonus when your wedding celebration ends in the late afternoon! white-wedding-boutineers white-wedding-boutineers wedding-invitations-and-rings-on-a-bed-of-flowers first-look close-up-of-bride-holding-white-pink-and-yellow-bouquet   bride-and-groom-walking-on-dock-at-alderbrook   bride-and-groom-on-dock-at-alderbrook   bride-and-groom-on-dock-at-alderbrook   bride-holidng-yellow-flowers   bridal-party-on-dock-at-alderbrook bride-and-bridesmaids-holding-yellow-flowers guest-book-signage wedding-ceremony-setup-at-alderbrook bride-grips-fathers-arm groom-watching-bride-walk-down-the-aisle wedding-ceremony-at-alderbrook   yellow-and-pink-flowers-on-tables wedding-toasts-and-speeches wedding-toasts-and-speeches wedding-toasts-and-speeches   wedding-cake-and-dessert   cake-cutting   first-dance   wedding-dances wedding-getaway-boat bride-and-groom-walk-down-dock-to-boat bride-and-groom-kissing-in-wedding-getaway-boat sunset-portraits-bride-and-groom sunset-portraits-bride-and-groom sunset-portraits-bride-and-groom sunset-portraits-bride-and-groom

BreeAnn, words cannot express the gratitude we have for all you have done. You simplified the wedding planning for Michael and Kevin during an overwhelming time of their lives and they are beaming with joy over how wonderful all the various events have unfolded. You also made the “mother-of-the-bride” duties non-existent for me. For that I will be forever grateful! Sincerely, Tamara

Katie and Arin’s Sodo Park wedding told the story of one beautiful beginning! They day started with getting ready at the Fairmont Olympic and ended with an epic dance party featuring Bamboo Beats Video DJ experience which incorporated live music videos and movie clips on the dance floor.  Katie and Arin’s wedding featured a number of personal touches including their favorite date night activity, ping pong, as well as Katie’s love of making sure everything was beautiful which included the gorgeous floral by Floressence!  To ensure guests were a piece of their new beginning they invited guests to light their own individual candle while they made a wish or prayer for the couple before being seated for the ceremony. These two were so in love and we were honored to be their wedding planner and designer, as we were able to witness the beginning of a love story for the ages!

BreeAnn , words can hardly express how thankful we are for you. You have been so wonderful, gracious and patient through this journey with us. The best choice we made (apart from picking each other) was picking you! We have loved working with you and will move on from this day with a little sadness knowing that we won’t get to work with you any longer! You really were made for this job and will think of you in the future when we are in need of Seattle’s best planner! Thank you again for everything! XO Katie & Arin

Chris’s 30th Birthday Party

Having recently moved to Seattle and in the midst of remodeling a newly purchased home (hence the hardhats), Kacey reached out to Pink Blossom Events to help throw her husband Chris one memorable party for family and friends. The afternoon of the party guests boarded the Yachta Yachta in South Lake Union for cocktails and appetizers on Lake Union making a perfect setting to show off their city to friends and family. After a spin on the lake guests headed up to Queen Anne where they dined on a gourmet meal by City Catering Company and sipped on cocktails mixed by their favorite downtown bar on the lawn of their new home. We must say, we wish our 30th Birthday could have mirrored this one!
