Holiday Tailgate – Woodinville Wine Country

While the Pandemic continues to bring ‘gifts’ of altered plans this Holiday Season, it has made our desire to gather safely with those we treasure the most that much more special. To kick-off the holiday season Pink Blossom Events, Sublime Stems, Seatown Sweets and A Platinum Event gathered outside for a Holiday Tailgate on the grounds of JM Cellars. Vehicles circled around a firepit were decked out in festive holiday floral and decor and had a gift to share. From a SUV offering wine and charcuterie to a pickup truck filled with holiday presents to another tempting the sweet tooth with hot cocoa and sugar cookies, it was a tailgate party full of Holiday spirit! A big thank you to Stephanie Cristalli Photography for capturing all the details!

With the tailgate up, and a trunk filled with comfy blankets and velvet hunter green pillows, this SUV held a wine and charcuterie station featuring JM Cellars wine and the most delicious charcuterie board from A Platinum Event! Details of golds, creams and greens and floral details filled with cotton, ferns, evergreen branches and magnolia leaves gave this black SUV an elegant, yet natural look.

The silver pickup truck, brought by Pink Blossom Events, was decorated in all it’s Merry with a Christmas Tree strung with cranberry garland, large wood lanterns, poinsettias, an evergreen swag and a set of black adirondack chairs adorned with red snowflake pillows. The perfect setting for gifts that would soon come!

The decor for Seatown Sweets red SUV was inspired by a red and black buffalo plaid runner that covered the wood table which displayed the most festive sugar cookies and a hot cocoa station filled with snowflake marshmallows and peppermint hot chocolate to stay warm! It was hard to choose a favorite sugar cookie as the options included red poinsettia cookies, snowflake cookies, evergreen tree cookies and a vintage red truck sugar cookie on a stick displayed in a jar of cranberries. Our favorite unexpected detail was the gnome hidden in the holiday floral arrangement from Sublime Stems.

With the Holiday Tailgate set, we gathered around the firepit with wine and sparkling cider in hand to toast to the Holiday Season and friendships around. And because an outdoor tailgate isn’t complete without a pup in hand, Maverick joined the tailgate and wore a floral and greenery swag on his collar.

Once in our vehicles, a safe distance away, we could enjoy the celebration without our Holiday masks on however once we got up to grab a sweet or savory bite or partake in cookie decorating or roasting a marshmallow around the firepit our masks went right back on.

With bellies full the gift exchange began! Evergreen Custom Gifting filled the pickup truck with gifts curated from local PNW makers and artisans that would be shared amongst the group.

Presents included gifts centered around a Holiday paint-by-number; a Santa and Theo Chocolate hot cocoa themed gift and note to miss a Woodinville Wine Country inspired gift to enjoy this Holiday Season.

As the sun began to set it was time to wrap up our tailgate. One more bite of cheese, one final sip of wine, one more roasted marshmallow and a chance to squeeze in one more laugh around the fire with friends. What began as an idea on the hiking trail this fall turned into the perfect way to gather safely this Holiday Season!

Wishing you a Holiday Season filled with Safe Gatherings!

Intimate Weddings & Events

As we continue to await the exact guidelines for the entry back into events our mind continues to fall back on many of our most intimate weddings and events. Since 2006 we have worked with clients planning and designing their event from five to fifty guests. While these events may be small in size they are far from lacking in details. Truly some of the most heartfelt, beautiful and unforgettable celebrations we’ve been a part of. In the next few weeks we will continue to highlight some of our most memorable intimate weddings and events as no celebration is too small!

An Awakening of Spring at JM Cellars

Inspired by the awakening of spring, we teamed up with Gather Design Company to design this intimate wedding at JM Cellars. Using the soft, delicate bounty of spring, set against the masculine setting at JM Cellars, we were inspired by the soft and bright spring tones and textures. Incorporating the spring colors of mustard, pale yellows, soft peaches and a faint pink it was a new beginning, the start of a love story for the ages. Blooming branches, fluffy ranunculus and a few clean-lined anthurium set the tone for the inspiration. The flowers were layed on top of luxe velvet linens from La Tavola and carefully chosen rental items. The bridal gown, both clean and modern, but also romantic, made this one magical shoot all captured by Blue Rose Photography

Shannon & Jonathan’s September Wedding at JM Cellars

As their officiant spoke to friends and family he told the story of Shannon and Jonathan’s first meeting and what brought guests to JM Cellars last September…”Shannon and Jonathan happened to meet at my wedding in Washington DC. A relationship seemed unlikely as Shannon lived in Philadelphia and Jonathan in DC. Luckily, Shannon is a pretty avid sports fan and the Phillies were visiting the Nationals a couple of weekends after, so Shannon made the trek to DC to go to the game and visit Jonathan. The following weekend, Jonathan was up in Philly. This pattern continued for almost 2 years, a lot of their life spent sitting in traffic on 95! “

A cheek squeeze, a first look and a window peeper trying to be incognito with a fake mustache gave us a good laugh!

JM Cellars set the stage for a Pacific Northwest inspired fall wedding as Shannon & Jonathan celebrated with loved ones this past September. Greenery, candlelight, and minimal floral touches were all accented with acrylic and glass signage.  Accents of taupe and navy could be found in the bridesmaid’s taupe dresses and navy suits were the perfect fit for the groomsmen & Jonathan’s Suits.

As tray passed appetizers came around and the bar opened Shannon and Jonathan were most excited about their must have Oyster Bar! Taylor Shellfish Farms Kumamoto, Shigoku & Pacific Oysters were enjoyed!

As Harold Beslkus duo played in the background Shannon & Jonathan had their first dance outside on in front of JM Cellars copper doors before friends and family were invited inside for dinner.

After finding their names on tent folded escort cards, which played double duty as place cards noting entree choices, guests found their seats among tables cover in ivory linens and topped with greenery centerpieces (round tables featured a greenery wreath / rectangle tables featured a greenery garland) and floating candles.  Place settings featured ivory napkins on top of Aria Rose Gold chargers. Two dinner menus by Paper Fling were placed tables for sharing.

Dinner began with a mixed green salad of poached pears, candied walnuts, chevre cheese and a champagne vinaigrette and Macrina artisan rolls with sweet cream butter. Entrees were split between braised boneless short ribs and northwest salmon fillets each accompanied by grilled late summer asparagus and sea salt roasted garlic mashers.

After toasts, Shannon hit the dance floor with her father and Jonathan his mother. With the dance floor open an ice cream bar (vanilla, chocolate, and Rocky Road ice cream with a topping of chocolate sauce, sprinkles, Reeses M&M’s, whipped cream and cherries) and Lowrider Baking Co cookie station (brown butter triple chocolate chunk, cookies and cream, s’mores and double chocolate peanut butter chip) opened!

Salla & Zach’s Fall JM Cellars Wedding

If there was ever a wedding that had us glowing, this would be it! Working with Salla and Zach on all of the planning and design of their fall JM Cellars Wedding was a dream! Inspired by the beauty of the season, Salla and Zach chose a warm fall-inspired color palette of evergreen, forest green, sage, burgundy, eggplant and touches of burnt orange, copper, and gold. From the warm glow of candlelight to the overhead bistro lights above the ceremony in the rock garden the soft lighting made for a romantic fall setting. Colorful fall floral by Sublime Stems filled the venue. Not afraid of texture, the floral incorporated nature’s bounty from berries to branches. Follow along one for images of one stunning fall day captured by Rachel Birkhofer Photography  that featured a cameo by their dog Juniper!

With family photos complete Salla and Zach’s guests soon arrived! Acrylic signage made by Salla welcomed guests into the rock garden that crisp fall evening. For their guestbook Salla and Zach set out three JM Cellars wine bottles for guests to sign. For the next three years as husband and wife they would enjoy a bottle of wine and remember their loved ones. “Like wine, love gets better with age.

Despite a few drops of rain that fell pre-ceremony (thankful for clear umbrellas on hand just in case), the ceremony stayed rain free!

Officially husband and wife, the newlyweds entered cocktail hour as Harold Belskus played for guests while they enjoyed a selection of Artisan Cheeses and tray passed appetizers of cremini mushroom & gruyere tartlets and herb & salt-crusted wild salmon skewers.

As JM Cellars’ famous copper doors opened guests moved inside the library and barrel rooms for dinner on long wooden tables. Tables were adorned with floral table runners filled with lush greens, dahlias, roses and hanging amaranthus.  Amber-colored votives were mixed in to give the perfect accent.  The head table floral runner featured additional blooms gathered in the middle of the runners that tapered out to the end of the tables, along with the deep green foliage.  Place settings featured black stoneware chargers, set on top of forest green napkins, were topped with acrylic menus from Paper Fling and highlighted with sprigs of burgundy hanging amaranthus, a favorite bloom of Salla’s. A trio of vintage glassware composed of culver highballs, gold rimmed crystal coupes and gold rimmed crystal glasses for wine. The perfect fall design for this intimate moody fall wedding.

After a plated dinner of local grilled & roasted market vegetables and seared sweet potato polenta triangles with entree choices of cider-roasted chicken breasts, braised Oregon country short ribs or a portobello mushroom steak; Salla and Zach cut their wedding cake. A hand-painted cappuccino cake with bourbon salted caramel buttercream was a highlight for Salla and Zach. Thanks for a surprise gift from Salla’s co-worker the cake was accented with the most gorgeous sugar flowers by Honey Crumb Cake Studio.

Dancing, cake and a trip to the Espresso Cart for a signature Dirty Chai kept guests celebrating late into the night! Not to miss the bahn mi sliders that came out at the end of the night!

Stealing a kiss outside Salla and Zach shared a s’more before a final bubble send-off with their friends and family.

Congrats Salla & Zach!

Booking BreeAnn as our wedding planner was the first and best decision we made for our wedding. I honestly wasn’t sure if I should book a planner as I have always imagined that I would figure it out a way to do it myself–but I quickly realized I was in over my head. We worked together for over a year planning our wedding and we’ve appreciated tapping into her clear experience planning weddings, deep knowledge of the Seattle wedding industry and creativity. We had several wedding guests mention how smooth and well run everything was (and you always have a few unavoidable bumps behind the scenes). Whether you are on the fence or deciding who your planner should be–I would definitely recommend considering Pink Blossom Events. ~ Salla

Mara & Christian’s Spring Wedding at JM Cellars

We love when couples choose live music for their wedding and Mara and Christian hit the mark with both strings for the ceremony and cocktail hour followed by dueling pianos for their April JM Cellars wedding. To highlight the season they choose to include tulips in with their floral arrangements which fit perfectly with the rain showers that fell that morning. Luckily the skies cleared and a rain free ceremony and reception was held! Photos by Carol Harrold Photography.

Alycia & Bobby’s JM Cellars October Wedding

“There is no season in all the year so beautiful, so radiant with glory, as Autumn.

With the fall foliage glowing, Alycia and Bobby married as the sun began to set last fall at JM Cellars. Sapphire blue and copper radiated throughout the bridal party and venue.

Thank you so much for all of your hard work in making our day so special! We seriously could not have done it without you!! It was such a perfect day and we absolutely loved everything. ~ Alycia

Darci & Eric’s Harvest Moon Wedding, JM Cellars

Darci and Eric met at CSU’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Fort Collins as Eric had just finished his internship and while Darci was working as an IT Technician. Eric conveniently kept coming up with computer troubles and eventually asked Darci to go out on their first date, a horse back ride. They were soon hooked and spent countless days together filled with adventures including many fishing trips along their favorite rivers. Fast forward to this Fall, after Eric had proposed at Salish Lodge, they were surrounded by the love of family and friends as Eric and Darci were married at their favorite winery, JM Cellars, on the Autumnal Equinox. They celebrated with wine, amazing food and cake, live music, and a bit of magic in the air. Highlighting the harvest moon and all the circles of life, it was one incredible celebration of love! Photos by B.Jones Photography.

Dear BreeAnn, Thank you for helping to make our special day the perfect day. Truly your attention to details, caring instruction, superb suggestions and friendship made this one-of-a-kind day possible. We simply can’t thank you enough. You’re the best! Sincerely, Darci & Eric

Katrina & Ryan’s JM Cellars Wedding

Ryan and Katrina both remember the moment they first met.  Katrina was at work rushing to a marketing meeting while Ryan was sitting next to the door Katrina was rushing to open, as he was waiting to meet the company CEO for his interview at that very same company. When their eyes met, Katrina became unexpectedly surprised, stopped, and went the other direction. While they didn’t speak at that moment they both remember it vividly. Fast forward a few years later as Ryan and Katrina wed set to wed in front of friends and family at JM Cellars. Inspired by the venue and their love of a classic look that accented the venue, Katrina and Ryan chose a botanical inspired event full of creams, whites and greenery. A touch of blush and navy were highlighted in the wedding party attire. Flying in some of their favorite vendors from the Philippines, their celebration pulled together Katrina and Ryan’s love of music and food as well as the opportunity to treat and celebrate with those they love the most, many of whom came from thousands of miles away. Thanks BreeAnn for all your hard work and guidance as we planned and waited for the day to arrive. Wish we could do it all again, it was such an incredible experience! We are still on a wedding high… Cheers, K+R

Kayley & Brian’s JM Cellars Wedding

It was a catch of a lifetime as Kayley came into Brian’s restaurant to sell him his fish for the day and a love story soon followed. With food an integral part of their lives, Kayley and Brian made the dining experience the focus of their JM Cellars wedding day. Their team at General Harvest Restaurants came together to create an unforgettable dining experience for their friends and family that included a cocktail hour filled with fresh caught oysters, iberico ham and local fruit and cheeses; and a multi course dinner starting with a variety of salads followed by family style pasta dishes from strozzapretti to cavatelli; all ending with sockeye and prime New York steak.  Kayley’s favorite MORA ice cream, paired with a strawberry creme wedding cake made for one delicious wedding day! {Photos by Jenn Tai Photo Artistry}
