Megan & Tyler – July 27, 2013

On July 27, 2013 Dragonfly Retreat in Bothell was filled with both wine and floral features and pops of teal and pink as Megan and Tyler tied the knot and celebrated underneath the warm summer sky. Wedding photos captured by Lilly Photography.

As guests arrived for the ceremony, they signed a large magnum wine bottle that the couple would later keep as a keepsake from their wedding day. The ceremony was held outdoors on the lush lawns of Dragonfly Retreat with a rod iron trellis covered in curly willow branches as the focal point for the ceremony. Underneath the rod iron trellis sat a wine barrel which was used for the sand ceremony. The Beatles hits “Here Comes the Sun” and “I Feel Fine” introduced the family and bridal party as they processed into the ceremony while Megan walked into “My Girl” by the Temptations. During the ceremony the bride’s brother was recognized by an empty chair that featured his photo along with a rose in his memory.

After being announced as husband and wife, the newlyweds recessed down the aisle to the sounds of “This Will Be” by Natalie Cole. As Megan and Tyler took photos during cocktail hour, guests enjoyed walking through the properties many gardens and soaking in the flora and fauna while catching peeks of dragonflies near the pond.

Tray-passed and stationed appetizers along with a bar featuring bottles of Jones of Washington wine were served as it seemed only fitting to serve the same wine that shared their last name. Lawn games including ladder golf, bocce ball and corn hole were enjoyed by all ages while a play area complete with bubbles and hula hoops for the little ones was enjoyed.

As cocktail hour ended, guests were directed to their seats by escort cards that were secured by wine corks. The dining tables were set on the stained concrete patio which featured pewter linens with alternating teal and pink napkins, mismatched vintage vases filled with floral from Fena Flowers and wine bottle table numbers. The bridal party made their grand entrance to Calvin Harris’s “Feel So Close” while Megan and Tyler walked into Michael Buble’s “Me & Mrs. Jones” before starting the buffet catering by Twelve Baskets Catering. With dinner underway, a slideshow of the couple was played.

The newlyweds cut into a four tiered cake baked by a friend of the family’s which sat upon a table covered in a teal linen featuring a “love is sweet” banner across the front.

Following the couples first dance, Megan stole a dance with her father (James Taylor’s “How Sweet It Is” and Tyler danced with his mother to the sounds of Carole King’s “Sweet Child of Mine.” The last songs of the evening included “Open Arms” by Journey and “The Final Countdown” before the newly married couple were showered with love and sparklers as they made their exit.

Congratulations Megan & Tyler!
